Georgia's National Security Council Demands Toughening Anti-Criminal Action in Pankisi Ravine

During its today's session, Georgia's National Security Council accepted a resolution demanding the toughening of the anti-criminal operation in the Pankisi Ravine. This is according to Nino Burdzhanadze, the chairman of the council. The National Security Council demanded that Georgia's law enforcement detain the wanted persons and, should they prove to be foreign citizens, extradite them to the countries where they belong.

The National Security Council convened after President Putin's yesterday's statement. On September 11, the President ordered the General Staff of Russia's army to consider the possibility of delivering strikes at terrorists entrenched in Georgia.
