A representative Russian delegation headed by first deputy Culture Minister Natalia Dementyeva arrived in Minsk Thursday morning to take part in the Days of Russian Culture in Belarus. The delegation came to Belarus accompanied by the Tchaikovsky State Academic Grand Symphony Orchestra, the State Academic Chamber Choir, and the State Choir of Kuban Cossacks. During the Days of Russian Culture, Minsk residents will get a chance to watch Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin starring Bolshoi Theater soloists on stage of the Belarussian National Opera Theater and a few performances by Moscow's Maly Theater, and see a selected collection of 18th-20th century works from Russian museums at the National Museum of the Cultural History of Belarus. Culture ministry officials from Russia and Belarus will sign a protocol of cooperation in 2002 and an agreement on co-founding of a Center of Russian Cinematography.
