A rabid cat has bitten four people, including two children in the village of Bochanitsa, the Rovno region (Western Ukraine). The Emergencies Ministry of Ukraine reported on Wednesday that the bitten people had been urgently taken to the Goshchanskaya district hospital where they are given urgent medical aid.
The fact that the cat is sick was confirmed by laboratory tests.
At present, experts of the state veterinary service and the sanitary epidemiological station are taking measures to eliminate the seat of infection. At the same time, they are inspecting other animals which could have been in contact with the rabid cat.
