Emergency Ministers Of Central Asian Countries And Russia To Hold Conference In Dushanbe

The heads of ministries and agencies in charge of the prevention and clearing up of consequences of emergency situations of Central Asian countries and Russia will meet in Tajikistan's capital Dushanbe on October 19 to discuss the possible aggravation of the situation in Afghanistan. A spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations said on Tuesday that Russia will be represented at the conference by Minister of Emergency Situations Sergei Shoigu. The countries of the region are planning to broaden their participation in the international humanitarian coalition aiming to render aid to the population of Afghanistan and control the migration of refugees. Aircraft of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations have already delivered to Afghanistan 75.7 tons of foodstuffs (sugar, tea, canned meat and milk, buckwheat, rice, and baby food), 320 tents, 6,300 blankets, and 10 tons of medicine and medical equipment.
