Two armed horsemen were arrested on the Russian-Georgian border on Tuesday evening, reported the press service of the border guards.
The trespassers were moving along the first line of the Russian-Georgian border and into the heart of the Russian territory. Ordered by soldiers from the Cherkessk border detachment to stop and lay down weapons, they tried to escape but were seized amidst the rocks. Both of them carried weapons and ammunition.
Law enforcers are investigating the incident.
The choice of the city of Helsinki is not incidental as the capital of Finland had hosted US-Soviet negotiations on the limitation of nuclear stockpiles in 1969
