Relations between Ukraine and the USA 'are getting back to normal' and there is no reason why relations should not continue to improve. This was announced by Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma at a meeting with US Ambassador to Ukraine Carlos Pasquale in Kiev yesterday.
As a Rosbalt correspondent was informed by the president's press office, the meeting was initiated by the American diplomat. They discussed prospects for cooperation between Ukraine and the USA and Mr Pasquale expressed the hope that the Kolchuga scandal, concerning the illegal sale of arms to Iraq, had passed and that 'Kiev will now adhere to the norms of international law.'
