A draft law on "The State Border of the Russia-Belarus Union" will be discussed on Wednesday in Minsk in the course of a joint session of the Parliamentary Council of the Russia-Belarus Union /PCU/ on the issues of security, defence and fight against the crime and the board of the PCU scientific-consulting council on the issues of security.
The agenda of the session also includes the financing of Union programs of the Union State interior border development and the training of Belarussian servicemen in military educational institutes of the Russian Ministry of Defence, the PCU press-service disclosed to a RIA Novosti correspondent.
Moreover, the participants in the session will consider the measures necessary for the fulfilment of the concept, concerning the provision of security for the Russia-Belarus Union until 2005.
Special attention will be paid to the development of the Union programs "The Fight Against Crime on the Territory of the Union State within the Period of 2003-2004" and "Counteraction to Terrorism and Other Manifestations of Extremism".
The choice of the city of Helsinki is not incidental as the capital of Finland had hosted US-Soviet negotiations on the limitation of nuclear stockpiles in 1969
