A meeting of the integration committee of the Eurasian Economic Community (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kirghizia) has been held in Astana in the run-up to a summit of the EurAsEC prime ministers in the Kazakh capital, scheduled for September 20th.

On Wednesday, the integration committee discussed issues on the agenda of the forthcoming Friday summit.

For instance, the meeting focused on the improvement of cooperation between the EurAsEC states on joining the World Trade Organisation /WTO/ and on the elaboration of the mechanism for protection of EurAsEC home markets under the conditions of non-application of special protective anti-dumping and compensatory measures in mutual trade.

The integration committee also discussed a coordinated introduction and withdrawal from the free trade regime between the EurAsEC members and CIS countries, not included in the community, and the work of the council of heads of EurAsEC customs services on the formation of a common customs area of the community and the infrastructure of borders of the EurAsEC countries.
