Armenia will conduct the second round of presidential elections.
Head of the Armenian Central Election Commission Artak Sagradyan said that incumbent president Robert Kocharyan had got the majority of votes - 49.8 percent of all votes.
According to Mr. Sagradyan, that means that Robert Kocharyan and his contender, head of the People's Party of Armenia Stepan Demirchyan with 27.7 percent of all votes will fight for victory in the second round.
Artashes Gegamyan, head of the Armenian National Unity Party with 17 percent of all votes holds third place.
Mr. Sagradyan said that the date of the second round of the presidential elections would be announced at a session of the Armenian Central Election Commission that would take place in the near future.
