An informal summit of the CIS leaders will be held in Alma Ata (former Kazakh capital) on March 1, Head of the Kremlin Administration Alexander Voloshin told journalists after two-hour talks with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in Astana (new Kazakh capital) on Tuesday.
Nazarbayev and Voloshin discussed the Russian-Kazakh cooperation and the preparation for the informal CIS summit.
The summit's agenda will be worked out later, Alexander Voloshin said. The summit will focus on security issues within the CIS, he added.
According to Voloshin, they discussed "important issues" and prospects for Russian-Kazakh interaction within the Eurasian Economic Cooperation.
In addition, the sides shared the experience in the distribution of powers, Voloshin said. According to him, Russia and Kazakhstan's approaches to this issue have much in common, in spite of different legislation systems.
