Advanced Group of Ukrainian Radiation Protection Batallion Flies to Kuwait

The advanced group of the Ukrainian radiation, bacteriological and chemical protection battalion flew to Kuwait, the Ukrainian defence ministry reported on Saturday.

It is supposed that by April 20 the whole composition of the Ukrainian battalion will be transferred to Kuwait.

President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma issued a decree on the re- dislocation of the Ukrainian battalion to Kuwait on March 20.

Last Thursday, the Ukrainian parliament agreed to send the country's battalion to Kuwait to protect the local population from poisonous substances if they will be used during the war on the Iraqi territory.

The 19th Ukrainian separate battalion of chemical protection has 532 servicemen and 165 units of military hardware. It has been created to be used during ecological and technogenic catastrophers.
