Heads of secret services of Bishkek Group have net in Kazakh capital

The session of the heads of the law enforcement bodies and secret services of the Bishkek Group of the member-countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan) opened on Thursday in the Kazakh capital of Astana.

According to the data of the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan, the session will consider cooperation of the law enforcement bodies and secret services of the member-countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation the fight against terrorism, extremism, separatism and the illegal sale of weapons and drugs.

The heads of the delegations in Astana intend to work out a common position on creating "efficient mechanisms for coordinating joint actions, exchanging information on crimes, above all those which affect the interests of the member-countries of the Shanghai Organisation for Cooperation.

The Russian delegation at the session, which is going on behind closed doors, is headed by Viktor Komogorov, deputy head of the Russian Federal Security Service, the Chinese delegation is headed by Minister of Public Security Jia Chunwang, the Kazakh delegation - by Interior Minister Kairbek Suleimenov, the Tajik delegation - by Interior Minister Khumidin Sharipov, the Kyrgyz delegation - by deputy head of the Security Council Askar Mameyev.

The day before, Uzbekistan, according to Kazakh Interior Minister Suleimenov, officially refused to attend the session in Astana.
