The building of the Ukrainian President's administration stays sealed off by commandos. The soldiers are equipped with body armours, metal shields and helmets.

The access to the building where over 50 opposition deputies are on hunger strike is limited to the presidential administration officials. The deputies who spent the night in the administration building were ready to go all the way until the meeting with President Kuchma is held, People's Deputy Stanislav Nikolayenko informed the RIA Novosti correspondent.

Wednesday night on his return to Moscow the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, Vladimir Litvin, held a meeting with the strikers. He promised to persuade the President to meet with the deputies. However, Leonid Kuchma said he was ready to meet with the opposition leaders only.
