Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexis II granted Kazakhstan's highest award

On behalf of President Nursultan Nazarbayev Kazakhstan's ambassador to Russia Altynbek Sarsenbaiuly granted Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexis II with Kazakhstan's highest national award - "Dostyk" order /the order of friendship/ of the first degree - "for his significant contribution to peace, friendship and cooperation between the two states and peoples." The ceremony was held in Patriarch's working residence in Moscow on Thursday.

The Russian Orthodox Church has three dioceses in Kazakhstan, and bishops are making their contributions to strengthening interconfessional and international peace among the citizens of the republic.
