Agenda For Meetings Of CIS Presidents And Prime Ministers Defined

Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) have agreed on the agenda of the CIS Prime Ministers' meeting to take place Thursday in the afternoon, and the agenda of the CIS summit due to be held in the Kremlin on Friday. According to Yury Yarov, the CIS Executive Secretary, the ministers examined all of the 16 issues of the Council of Foreign ministers' agenda on Thursday. He noted that the most crucial points were the analytical report devoted to the results of the CIS activities over the decade and its further tasks and the CIS Presidents' statement on the 10th anniversary of the CIS. In addition, the ministers discussed the CIS Presidents' statement on the situation in Afghanistan. Yarov said that participants in the session had approved the draft agreement establishing a council of supreme arbitrage and economic courts' representatives along with the decision to hold Youth Games of the CIS and Baltic countries in Moscow in 2002. The ministers also listened to the report on the results of CIS observers' work at the presidential elections in Belarus, Yarov said.
