There Are Six Items On The CIS Summit Agenda

There are six items on the agenda of the jubilee summit of the CIS heads of state, which opened in the St. George's Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace in Moscow today. At the beginning of an open session, the heads of the CIS states will hear an analytical report of the working group of experts, exchange opinions of the CIS operation in the past ten years and discuss tasks for the future. The presidents will most probably approve the initiative of Belarus and adopt a statement on the tenth anniversary of the CIS. It is also expected that they will adopt a statement on the situation around Afghanistan, suggested by Russia. The council of the heads of security and special services has moved for the consideration of the presidents draft regulations on the procedure and organisation of joint counter-terror operations on the territory of the CIS member states. The regulations stipulate the principles and rules of holding related functions in accordance with the Treaty on the CIS Cooperation in the Struggle Against Terrorism.
