Ukraine considers breaking off diplomatic relations with Russia

Ukrainian MPs intend to break off diplomatic relations with Russia at the nearest session of the Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada).

Moscow urged the Ukrainian side to cease taking provocative actions against Russian diplomatic missions and diplomatic personnel in Ukraine.

Earlier, the Russian Embassy in Ukraine sent a protest note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after unidentified individuals attacked several vehicles of Russian diplomats that were parked near the embassy. The attacks came as a carefully prepared action.

Videos of the attacks on the Russian embassy appeared on the Internet. The attackers call for the release of Ukrainian Air Force officer Nadezhda Savchenko. The latter is accused of committing a number of crimes in Russia, including the murder of Russian journalists and attempted murder of their colleagues and six civilians.
