Biss Blood: Anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism

While I agree with the sentiment of Irwin Kappes' column in the 7/28/04
issue, about the relationship of the US and Israel,  I think it is essential
to point out one thing:  being opposed to the government of Israel is
anti-Zionism, not anti-Semitism.

Anti-Semitism is the hatred of all peoples from the Middle East of Arabic
race.  Anti-Zionism is opposition to those set on creating and enlarging
the Israeli State.  The Zionists are the ones killing Palestinians.

Now is the time to clarify the difference between Anti-Zionism and Anti-
Semitism.  It's very important for everyone to know the difference so that
clear and logical discussion can take place, without bringing into the
argument issues of race and religion, which is what is happening now
and will keep on happening until people understand that not all Jewish
people agree with the oppression of the Palestinians by the Israeli
government, nor do all United States citizens.  Most people do not know
the facts, or even the semantics or language, and those in power use
the public's confusion to further their aims.  Please take a moment to
look at these links so you can understand the difference.
