People kiss with their eyes closed because they are focusing on the sense of touch and do not want visual stimulae to minimize it. Even cats and dogs lick with their eyes closed for the same reason. This is pretty old knowledge. It was first recorded in one of the works of Ovid in about 300BC. Since then, I am sure that hundreds if not thousands of other authors have mentionned it.
