John Collins: How Russian pseudo-brides cheat Americans RESPONSE

The womenrussia.com/blacklist.htm website warns about internet Russian bride scams, but it does not tell the whole story about online Russian marriage scams. Only visa and airline ticket scam stories are listed on this website. Stories about bogus marriage immigration scammers, are never listed on womenrussia.com. It also runs an online Russian women dating service for Russian women seeking a partner abroad.
Some immigration scammers pose as students of English. In the UK Prime Minister Tony Blair recently announced a crackdown on visas for bogus students and sham marriages for immigration purposes. Closing 1,100 Schools of English in the UK to visa applications from Russia. Following the bogus marriage immigration scam of a Russian gynaecologist from Chelyabinsk, who posed as a student of English and medical student. Her story has become well known in the UK and America. The US Embassy Kiev, Ukraine issues several warnings to American citizens about internet marriage fraud http://usinfo.usemb.kiev.ua/amcit_marriage_brokers_eng.html
The activities of these internet visa/airline ticket and bogus marriage immigration scammers does great harm to the image of Russia abroad. An image that President Putin is working hard to restore.
