Turkmenistan and Russia agree on gas supplies - 2 April, 2003

Alexey Miller, Chief Executive Officer of the Russian natural gas giant Gazprom, who is paying an official visit to Turkmenistan now, held negotiations with President of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov today, the Gazprom press service reported. They agreed to sign a long-term contract for purchases of Turkmen gas by Gazprom. The volume of gas purchases has not been elaborated on. The contract will be signed in the near future simultaneously with the Russian-Turkmen agreement on collaboration in the gas sector.
