Russia's Judicial Authority Stays in Moscow So Far

Supreme Court officials think "the measure will bring no use, just enormous spending"
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov made a decision to recall the instruction on preparation for probable transfer of the RF judicial authority from Moscow to St.Petersburg sent to different ministries and departments.

Konstantin Merzlikin, a high-ranking governmental official says that the instruction was recalled because some people believed as if the transfer of the judicial authority to St.Petersburg was a decided issue.  He added that the prime ministry had actually ordered to develop a provisional plan of the measure. However, the instruction itself did not mean that the transfer was already decided.

Earlier, representatives of the RF Supreme Court spoke critically of this probable transfer of the judicial authority to St.Petersburg. Supreme Court Deputy Chairman Viktor Zhuikov says "the measure will bring no use, just enormous spending."
