A visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Ivanov to Hungary is scheduled for July, and Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Kasyanov is to visit that country in September, chairperson of the State Council of Hungary Katalin Szili said at a meeting with Igor Ivanov in Moscow on Friday. According to her, Budapest hopes these visits will be "a continuation of the process of rapprochement between Russia and Hungary" the beginning of which was marked by a meeting between the president of Russia and the prime minister of Hungary last year.

The chairperson of the State Council of Hungary stressed that the delegation which had arrived in Moscow included both representatives of the ruling party and of opposition associations. This is evidence of the fact that the development of relations with Russia "is very important for all political forces of Hungary", Katalin Szili stated.
