Cartoon created by 35 directors of 7 countries premiered in Tokyo

The cartoon “Winter Days” (Fuyu No Hi) was premiered in Tokyo the last Thursday. It was created by 35 directors from seven countries, and illustrates poems of six Japanese authors of the XVII century. The work on the film took three years, said the producer Tatsuo Simamura.

The initiator of the idea is a famous Japanese animator Kihatiro Kavamoto, who invited 26 filmmakers from Japan and also from Russia, Canada, Belgium, Great Britain, Czech and China, aged from 34 to 80.

The cartoon is opened with a fragment by Yuri Norshtein, and later Alexander Petrov demonstrates his vision of the Japanese poetry. The idea appealed to Norshtein greatly. He’s been fond of the Japanese lyrics for long time, and of Matsuo Basho he says: “This man’s poetry never disappears from my table and from my walls.”

Poems which consist the basis of the film were written in 1684 by Basho and his students.

Certainly readers already know that the Prosecutor's Office of Nanterre has ordered that Marine Le Pen, secretary of the Rassemblement National (former FN) and parliamentary to the Assembly, be submitted to psychiatric examination.
