The autopsy of Heath Ledger’s body has not given any definitive results yet. The cause of his death still remains unknown. Investigators still work on all possible versions of the actor’s death: suicide, drug overdose or medicine overdose. Forensic experts hope to come to final conclusion after toxicological expertise.
Actor Heath Ledger, 28, was found dead in his New York apartment. A housemaid reportedly found his naked body face-down on the floor amidst bottles of sleeping pills.
Ledger moved into his Manhattan apartment after he broke up with his girlfriend Michelle Williams. Most likely, the break-up drove the actor into a state of depression and made him suffer from insomnia.
It was also reported that there were other strong medications found in Ledger’s apartment too. It was rumored last year that the actor became addicted to drugs, although no illegal drugs or their traces were found in his apartment.
It has also been reported that Heath Ledger played with death before. He had filmed himself committing suicide in a tribute video to British songwriter Nick Drake, who killed himself in 1974, The Sun reports.
In the clip, shot for song Black Eyed Dog, Ledger is seen drowning himself in a bath. The actor developed a great fondness for the depression-prone singer. “I was obsessed with his story and his music and I pursued it for a while and still have hopes to kind of tell his story one day,” Ledger once said.
