Russia on a Roll - 18 March, 2010

Five more medals for Russia in the Vancouver Winter Paralympics. Russia’s team remains in first place with 28 medals, almost double the amount won by second-placed team Ukraine (15). Germany is third with 14 and Canada, the host, in fourth place with ten medals.

Today’s medal haul for the heroic Russian athletes in the Vancouver Winter Paralympics brought one Gold, two Silvers and two Bronze medals.

Irek Zapirov got the Gold in the Men’s Cross-country skiing, 10 km, Sitting. This was his fourth Gold medal in the Olympic Games. Today’s Silvers went to Mikhalina Lysova in the Women’s Cross-Country skiing, 5 km classic, Visually impaired and to Kirill Mikhailov, Men’s Cross-country skiing, 10 km classic, Standing.

The Bronze medals today went to Tatiana Ilyuchenko in the Women’s Cross-Country skiing, 5 km Classic, Visually impaired and the Men’s 10 km classic in Cross-country skiing, Visually impaired, won by Nikolai Polukhin.

Silver medals
