Euro Soccer scene hots up

Euro Soccer scene hots up. 44925.jpegThe Summer soccer transfer market is sizzling, with the clubs desperate to sign and to keep star players to face the coming domestic and UEFA challenges. The Tevez saga seems to have ended - or has it?

Carlos Tevez has been linked with Brazilian club SC Corinthians - some media outlets say it's a deal but the reality is that it is not. Yet. SC Corinthians of São Paulo have offered 40 million GPB for their ex-player (Carlos Tevez , 27, played for Brazilian club Sport Club Corinthians between 2004 and 2006, when he scored 25 times in 38 appearances). The official position of Manchester City was laid out by team coach Roberto Mancini, who stated from the team's American tour that an agreement had been reached, however City wanted to speak to Carlos Tevez, the captain, one last time. If he still wanted to leave for South America, then he would go.

Lined up as a replacement is his Argentina team-mate Sergio Aguero who has declared he would be willing to accept a drastic cut in wages to come and play in the premier League. City have offered him 160,000 GBP per week - at Atlético he receives 240,000 GBP per week.

There are rumours that City would be interested in Corinthians' bid for the team captain but only if they increased it. A possible substitute for the Argentinean striker would be Atlético Madrid's Sergio Aguero (45 m. GBP, 51 m. EURO). It is said that his father-in-law - one Diego Maradona, favours the move to City.

Another long saga involving the Premiership and the Spanish Primera Liga is that of Cesc Fabregas, who has still not left Arsenal for Barcelona and whose team coach Arsene Wenger has declared he expects to see playing in an Arsenal shirt this week against German team FC Koln.
