Europa League: Draws for Russian clubs

Anzhi Makachkala had a goalless draw at home with Belgium's Genk, while Rubin Kazan got an important draw, one goal apiece, in Betis, Sevilla, in Spain. The home side got off to a roaring start, Didac Vilá scoring after 3' but R. Eremenko annulled the Spanish effort on 74'. All to play for back in Kazan.

Shock result of the day: Red Bull Salzburg confirms it is one of the best teams in Europe after a wonderful first round (6 games, six victories in Group C), coming away from Holland with a 3-0 trouncing of mighty Ajax.
