Crimea offers to restore monarchy in Russia

Head of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov has claimed that monarchy should be restored in Russia. Head of the Republic believes it will be beneficial for the country. 'When there is no single authority, collective irresponsibility comes around. Thus, when a country has outer challenges, pockets of resistance, more harsh measures should be taken,' he stated. The Head of Crimea sees no benefit from democracy through policy of permissiveness, which can be seen in Ukraine. While monarchy means own traditional Orthodox values, spirituality.

However, Aksyonov believes, that Vladimir Putin should be in power for the life term.

Before that, Aleksandr Zakatov, Director of the Chancellery of the Head of the Russian Imperial House, Her Imperial Highness the Grand Duchess Maria Wladimirovna, said that monarchy is a more essential regime. An ideal of a state, built on family principles, will last for ever, and it may be returned. However, for the moment, Russia is not ready for restoration of the monarchy, he believes.
