Pentagon expressed its dissatisfaction at the Chinese drills, after a submarine of the People's Republic of China had destroyed an American aircraft carrier. The exercises had taken place in the South China Sea, a disputed area Beijing fiercely stands up for, while Vietnam and the Philippines have claims to it. Beside that, the US also shows its interests there. As Pravda.Ru reported, the Chinese Foreign ministry noted that any entrance in to the area without Beijing's consent is fraught with a military clash. According to The Washington Free Beacon, a Chinese submarine has recently simulated a missile strike against the American aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan, which patrols territory of the disputed waters. The Pentagon therefore stated that although China carried out the drills, such acts contradicted the Code for Unplanned Encounters at Sea, that was adopted in 2014.
The discovery of the submarine has unveiled a few "inconsistencies." For example, how can one explain the fact that the sub was found where it needed to be searched for from the start?
