Belgium in imminent danger of terrorist attacks

Belgium prolonged the top terrorist threat level for another day. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belgium, the top level of terrorist threat means "imminent danger of terror attacks."

Unprecedented security operations are being conducted in the country with the participation of a large number of police officers and foreign special services. Law enforcement officers stop passersby, snipers are on duty on central squares. The subway system is closed, all mass events are canceled. Schools were closed on Monday as well.

During the raid in Brussels, 16 people were arrested, yet, no explosives or weapons were found. The prime suspect of the Paris attacks, Salah Abdeslama, is not among the detainees either.

It is assumed that the terrorist is staying in Brussels. His brother Ibrahim blew himself up Friday in Paris. Another brother, Mohammed, was taken into custody, but later released without charges.
