The Communist Party of the Russian Federation has received an agreement to hold a referendum on the return of the monument to the founder of the Emergency Committee, Felix Dzerzhinsky on Moscow's Lubyanka Square.
The Moscow Electoral Committee will register an initiative group within 15 days. The group will have to collect signatures from two percent of Muscovites in favor of the referendum.
If Communists succeed, the Moscow City Duma will have to set the date for the vote.
At present moment, the monument to Felix Dzerzhinsky is standing in Muzeon park in Moscow. The monument was under renovation for several months, although the word "Butcher" is still on the statue after it was made many years ago at the time when the monument was being removed from Lubyanka Square.
