In 2002, the Azot company, a subsidiary of EvroKhim chemical company, increased its output of mineral fertilisers by 7.3% to 646,000 tonnes. The production of nitric fertilisers increased by 7.8% to 640,000 tonnes. According to EvroKhim's press service, the production of phosphate-based fertilisers somewhat decreased due to the strained situation as concerns their sales.
