The Russian-Danish conference "Energy Efficiency and Efficient Use of Resources" started working in the capital of Yakutia on July 17th. Representatives of the federal center, spokespeople for Russian offices of Danish companies and housing experts of the republic take part in the conference. The conference is being held at the support from the leadership of Yakutia and with the assistance of the Chamber of Commerce.
Within two days the conference will feature presentations of reports from representatives of Danish companies Grundfos, Logstor, Danfoss and Era-Pave - world and European leaders in the development of energy efficient technologies. The presentation of the Yakut projects will also take place. Danish guests plan to visit the objects of the housing infrastructure of the country.
The 980,000-strong republic with the considerable dispersion of settlements, has about 1,400 boilers. The region is extremely interested in the introduction of modern technologies.
"During this visit, we want to get a better idea of the energy infrastructure and the energy saving potential in Yakutia. This will allow us to find suitable solutions that will help reduce the cost of production," the Director of the Russian-Danish Center for Energy Efficiency (RuDanEnergo) Michael Pedersen said at the opening of the conference. Denmark has extensive experience in the field of energy saving. The country also has appropriate technical solutions, which, according to Michael Pedersen, can be successfully used in Yakutia.
Representatives from the Danish side noted that Yakutia had a significant potential for energy saving owing to its natural and geographical conditions. The development of alternative energy serves as an important tool to ensure uninterrupted supplies of the territories inhabited by indigenous peoples of the Far North.
