More than 100 tons of heroin are brought every year into Tajikistan from Afghanistan across its border.
These data are given in the report of the United Nations' international committee for controlling drugs.
For his part, the director of the Agency for Controlling Drugs under the auspices of the President of Tajikistan, Rustam Nazarov, said that according to the same estimates of the United Nations, from ten to fifteen percent of the drugs smuggled are confiscated at the Tajik-Afghan border.
In the past two years, according to Rustam Nazarov, the frontier guards in Tajikistan detained four tons of heroin each year.
At the same time Nazarov said that the detention of raw opium in the Central Asian countries was going down.
