Russian citizens have practically given up on the idea to travel abroad for holidays. Egypt remains the only tourist destination that Russians are still not ready to sacrifice.
Against the backdrop of the declining tourist flow from Russia, the number of Russian tourists traveling to Egypt increased in May-June of this year. As many as 288,000 Russians visited Egypt statistical agency of Egypt said. In June, the number of Russian tourists in Egypt increased by nine percent.
Being the most attractive tourist destination in winter, Egypt enjoys high demand among Russian tourists in summer as well. From April to October, Turkey traditionally holds the leadership, but Egyptian resorts, such as Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada always remain in the top five of most popular summer destinations.
In general, the number of Russian tourists traveling to Egypt in 2015 has become the largest since 2010.
