"New Communists" Party Considers Itself Unique

On Saturday at the plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the New Communists party first deputy chairman Igor Malyarov stated that the party did not see allies among Russian communist movements. In his opinion, the New Communist Party should state its position at the elections independently.

Moreover, the deputy chairman stated that New Communists "planned to become a partner for the world social-democratic public" as "neither the Communist Party of the Russian Federation infected with nationalist clerical approaches" nor other left-wing parties could play such a role." Malyarov said that their party was the only one to call on all communist parties and movements of the country to start an open discussion, without which there would be no progress.

According to him, at present his party consists of 10,700 members. Officially only 5 regional unions were registered.
