The Georgian parliament is due to convene for its regular session Tuesday. According to a RIA Novosti correspondent, the deputies are going to devote the whole day to discussing the speaker's candidatures submitted by factions following the resignation of Zurab Zhvania. Last evening Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze had a closed-door meeting with all faction leaders, discussing the new speaker's candidature. As for the constitutional amendments proposed by the president and providing for the formation of a Ministers' Cabinet, the deputies are due to discuss them later this week, according to the decision of the parliament's bureau. The Georgian president dismissed the government late last week.
After it turned out that Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov included the Fonbet betting company in the list of backbone enterprises that can count on state support, everyone started talking about these bookmakers.
