The enterprise of the Russian city of Ulyanovsk Aviastar (which manufactures Tu-204 and Ruslan planes) is slowly recovering from its crisis. The press-service of the company reported that the factory has started working normally for the first time in five years. At present, there are nine Tu-204 and three An-124-100 (Ruslan) planes being assembled at the enterprise.
The Ulyanovsk company doesn't hope for much from Russian customers, but for the Egyptian customers. There will soon be an investment agreement signed with the Egyptian firm Kato-Aromatik, pursuant to which the firm will transfer three million dollars to Aviastar for completing the assembly of two Tu-204 aircraft. One of the planes is supposed to be delivered to Egypt in the beginning of May. The total sum of the Egyptian investments in the Ulyanovsk aircraft-building factory is expected to reach $300 million. The leading company, Ilyushin-Finance, will fund the building of three other planes.
Aviastar cannot cannot with the local energy companies. The factory might not work for several days due to the lack of electric power supplies. The energy companies asked the factory to clear the debt. The press-service informed that the three-month debt in the sum of over nine million rubles had been paid and the electric power supplies had been resumed. After that, Aviastar claimed that they were going to collect 23.5 million rubles from the energy companies for breaking the temperature regime of heat carriers this winter. Furthermore, the administration of the enterprise believes that the energy companies exaggerated the figures of the consumed power.
