Moldavian Presidential Elections: American scenario

Pravda.ru yesterday’s supposition confirmed: Moldavian Parliament deputes failed to elect the President of the state straight off. Since “crafty” current president Luchinsky, who had led the economy of the country into a dead end, didn’t nominate himself for the elections, the deputies had to choose between two equal in strength candidates: local communist leader Vladimir Voronin and the chairman of the Constitutional Court Pavel Barbalat. The leader of the left-wing forces picked up 48 votes, and his rival picked up 37. 15 bills were spoiled. Nobody achieved competent majority of votes. The second round is scheduled for December, 4. A candidate can become a president if he gathers three fifth of votes. If the winner is not determined after the second round, repeated elections will take place in 15 days. If it doesn’t help, current President Luchinsky will have to resign the Parliament and schedule the date of pre-term parliamentary elections. If it doesn’t go… It can continue for ever and ever, as it happens in USA. It’s getting boring
