defence ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan hold talks

The defence ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan have held talks intended to strengthen the ceasefire between the two countries. After a ninety-minute meeting at the Azeri border village of Sadarak, the Armenian defence minister Serzh Sarkisyan said the two countries had agreed additional measures to prevent violations of the ceasefire, which has been in operation since the end of a long war over the disputed enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh in 1994, BBC reports. The two ministers also agreed to maintain regular contact and to a mechanism to exchange prisoners.
