Konstantin Kosachev, the deputy head of the Fatherland-All Russia faction in the State Duma and the deputy head of the State Duma International Affairs Committee, said that the arrest of Boris Berezovsky was "a logical development of his illegal activities when he was the LogoVAZ chief". The deputy voiced his opinion in an interview with RBC. According to him, the Russian General Prosecutor's Office "has prepared much better", and the materials submitted to London differed from those submitted to Denmark in the Zakayev case. The deputy thinks this is evidence that the General Prosecutor's Office "has leant how to work in accordance with the requirements of West European justice". The decision of UK law enforcement agencies to arrest Berezovsky means that Great Britain agrees with the accusations of the General Prosecutor's Office. At the same time Kosachev believes that the decision to extradite Berezovsky will not be adopted soon, because "he has many defenders in Western countries".
