Russian Consumer Prices 14.8% Up Within 12 Months

The last twelve months sent Russian consumer prices 14.8% up, says the State Statistics Committee.

The highest rises for foodstuffs are reported with granulated sugar, 38.2%, cereals and legumes, 34.6%, and fruit and vegetables, 33.1%. Petrol leads non-foodstuff rises, with 40.8%.

Housing rents and municipal utility fees skyrocketed by 46%. Transport fares, consumer service tariffs and medical fees rose by 20-21%.

Factory list prices increased by 19.7% and freight transport fares by 13%.
