The bank's net income was 13bn rubles ($418m) on April 1, 2003, a 42.8 percent increase compared to the result in the first quarter of 2002. The bank's capital in the first quarter of 2003 was 99.4bn rubles ($3.2bn), which was a 30.5 percent decrease. Sberbank's credit portfolio was 609.9bn rubles ($19.6bn) as of April 1, 2003, the press service of the bank reported.
