In late August, the Russian airline Aeroflot plans to take the first Boeing-767-300 airplane on long lease under a program of re-equipment of Aeroflot's park of foreign-produced airplanes. Earlier the airline was hoping to receive the airplane in July 2003, Aeroflot's press service reported to RBC. The airplane has arrived in the Irish airport Shannon to be painted. It will then be sent to Russia. Under the re-equipment program, in 2003 through 2004 Aeroflot intends to take 27 new foreign-made airplanes on lease.
In the first half of the year, Aeroflot transported 2.548m passengers, up 2.2 percent against the same period of 2002.
