Military exercises within the framework of the strategic command post training of the Russian Armed Forces continued on Wednesday on the Northern Fleet.
As the spokesman for the headquarters of the Northern Fleet reported, at present in the area of the war games there are several submarines, anti-sub and anti-ship aviation, the fleet's surface ships, including the heavy aircraft-carrying cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov, large anti-sub ships Admiral Levchenko and Admiral Chabanenko. The heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser Pyotr Veliky also returned to the area of the naval exercises.
The headquarters specified that the nuclear-powered submarines Novomoskovsk and Arkhangelsk returned to their bases Tuesday night after accomplishing the tasks set to them within the framework of the war games.
All the Fleet's forces are carrying out the tasks set to them. The exercises are proceeding in a normal mode.
Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Vladimir Kuroyedov is observing the exercises, On Thursday morning the Fleet's ships will return to their bases, the headquarters reported.
