Presidential candidate Irina Hakamada will head a new political movement, to be known as 'Free Russia.' As reported by a Rosbalt correspondent, Hakamada made the announcement Tueday at a Moscow press conference. In her words, the new movement, possibly party, will be established immediately following the presidential election on March 14. Hakamada likewise emphasized that the new movement will dramatically differ from the Union of Right Forces.
'I am founding a democratic opposition party, and the Union of Right Forces was in many respects loyal to the government,' she said. Hakamada likewise emphasized that the members of the new party will 'not be former Union of Right Forces members, but people off the street.' At the same time, she noted that that she is prepared to engage in discussions regarding cooperation with other parties and organizations.
