The Russian president's wife, Lyudmila Putin, who arrived in Yerevan Monday visited in company of Armenian President Robert Kocharyan and his wife Bella the museum of the outstanding film-maker Sergei Parajanov (1924-1990). It is based on the director's collages, drawings, puppets, ceramics and movie sketches, reflecting his original reaction to life developments, his plastic perception of the world.
Parajanov has shot several masterpieces that have earned him world renown: "The Shadows of the Forgotten Forbears" (1964), "The Colour of the Pomegranate" or "Sayat-Nova" (1969), "The Legend about the Suram Fortress" (1985) and "Ashik-Kerib" (1988).
The Parajanov museum attracts all the guests of Armenia. In May 2001, a dinner was given there to the heads of state, signatories to the Collective Security Treaty incorporating Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Armenia.
