The 26th Moscow film festival opens on Friday, June 18, with the movie "Kill Bill. Vol. 2". Director Quentin Tarantino will present his new work.
The opening ceremony will traditionally take place in Pushkinsky cinema.
The festival's program was changed. According to program director Kirill Razlogov, Prospects, a contest of young directors was added to the main competition.
The task of the main competition is the same - to show the key trends in modern cinematography.
"We tried to present films of different genres by famous and little known directors," Mr. Razlogov said.
The contest program includes 17 movies, including three Russian films, Marina Razbezhkina's "Harvest Time", Vladimir Mashkov's "Papa" and Dmitry Meskhiyev's "Ours" and a Russian-Azeri work "The National Bomb".
Alexander Veledinsky's film "Russian" participated in the Prospects contest. "The Night Patrol" by Russian director Timur Bekmambetov will be shown on the final day of the 26th Moscow film festival.
Some films will be presented out of the contest.
Many films may arouse disputes and discussions.
