James Brown's song "It's A Man's Man's Man's World" was included in the list of 25 recordings being inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
The Grammy Hall of Fame Award is a special Grammy award established in 1973 to honor recordings that are at least twenty-five years old and that have "qualitative or historical significance".
The Recording Academy said Tuesday that the hall of fame now numbers a total of 851 titles that were selected to represent the triumphs and achievements of the recording arts. The inductees were drawn from all categories of music.
Other recordings selected this year include: The Doors' "Riders On The Storm;" the Beach Boys' "California Girls;" Jose Feliciano's "Feliz Navidad;" Janis Joplin's "Pearl;" the Isley Brothers' "Twist and Shout;" Louis Armstrong's "Lazy River;" and Muddy Waters' "I Feel Like Going Home."
